It’s Your Time to Shine!

The students also submitted an engineering notebook and professional blueprint. The teams had to arrive at the IU with their creation unassembled. They were then given only 2 hours to reassemble, interview with the judges, and present the entire package! All the students did an amazing job.

A big congratulations to Mr. Dave Mendell’s team from Nether Providence Elementary School in the Wallingford Swarthmore School District who showed creativity and perseverance in the face of a daunting STEM challenge. The students came together as a team and executed an innovative idea! Many exceptional projects were presented during this STEM competition, and the team is to be congratulated.

We also want to congratulate Dr. Elizabeth Schucker’s 8th grade Gifted student team, from Schuylkill Valley Middle School, for their exemplary STEM design thinking as they competed in the county-wide BCIU STEM Design Challenge on March 14th. ‘The Garden Girls’ and their ‘Garden Guardian’ won first place for Berks County and competed in the state competition in Harrisburg May 3rd. Congratulations to this team for their innovation and impressive design thinking!
