Approaching college planning from a developmental perspective with your gifted and twice-exceptional children.

Join clinical psychologist, parenting coach, and author, Dr. Gail Post, for an interactive, exploratory workshop that will address questions, concerns, and specific needs related to college planning for gifted and twice-exceptional kids. Topics include how asynchronous development, twice-exceptionality, social skills, executive functioning concerns, early college admission, and social/emotional struggles such as perfectionism or anxiety must be considered. Parents often feel stressed due to their child’s unique needs and challenges and rarely receive the guidance they need from their child’s school. Questions concerning how to find the best college “fit,” how much parental involvement is necessary, building a “resume,” and managing one’s own ambivalence and frustration are common.

If possible, don’t wait until 11th grade to think about college planning (but if you have, that’s okay too!) Join us, and bring your questions, ideas, and personal wisdom to share.
